The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, has constituted a committee to review school fees regime of Nasarawa State University, Keffi to enable indigent citizens have access to quality education.

This was revealed on Friday, 29th March, 2019 during the Orientation/Matriculation Ceremony for the newly admitted Postgraduate students of the University held at the PG Auditorium.

Represented by the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Abdullahi Modibbo, the Acting Vice Chancellor said one of reasons for the review of the fees is to eliminate all forms of multiple charges arising from departments and faculties.

He said once the review of the school fees is completed, less privileged citizens, who are willing to earn University education can afford to do so.

Prof. Suleiman also told the new students that Nasarawa State University, Keffi is presently partnering with private developers to provide lodging accommodations and hotels for students.

He congratulated the new students, admonishing them shun all forms of social vices, especially examination misconduct, plagiarism, cultism as any one caught in the acts will be severely dealt with in accordance with the University’s rules and regulations.

The Registrar of the University, Bala I. Ahmed II, warned the new intakes against taking laws into their hands, advising them to ensure that they do the right thing at all times to avoid ugly consequences.

Earlier, the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, gave a timeline of the postgraduate school, saying it has grown exponentially since 2004 to be ranked second only to the University of Ibadan in the whole of Nigeria.

He said the University is working very hard to become the best in the country, advising the students to work hard and graduate within the stipulated period.
